B. Organizational Management

Every successful organization has some form of organizational management structure. Organizational management takes skills in data management, planning and scheduling, allocating personnel and resources, budgeting, facilities, and using technology as a management tool.

The Organizational Management competency is an area that I would like continued growth in. I have learned a lot about the skills necessary for organizational management through conversations with my educational leadership mentors and reading course materials. I view this as an area of growth because, even though I have adequate theoretical training in this competency, I have very little practical application of this skillset. My experience in this area consists largely of my work as our local union co-president and in creating a data analysis presentation to make decisions about how to proceed after an unsuccessful semester of hybrid and distance learning. I feel that I have the temperament and organizational skills to excel in this competency, but I would like more experience before I can call it a strength.
